No!!!! You don't need the all wheel drive train. It's done in the 90's celica's. Ask Cher...Mister 04. He should know!!!??

(~_^)...I have seen a 92 celica st with the 3sg motor swap. It's front wheel drive. Same motor as Rusted04's 90's MR2. Your trany shoud be able to handle 300 whp. Can't say for the chasis but there's a way around it. They pump some kind of foam into your chasis and when the foam hardens it embraces the chasis. ( making the chasis dense ) The more dense the stronger. I believe the front clip is $3k. I have heard bad things about your 1.8 motor. It's not like the honda motors because it can't take abuse.

-Mister 04-
On another note how's the MR2 project going? What was it pumping...375 whp...400 whp?? I have read a few articles about the MR2 builds. The people who posted the threads/articles said the same thing. Their cars run rough and can't seem to be tuned right. Come on...it's a Jap car!!! You need a Jap dude to tune it! Anyways...looking forward to seeing the MR2.

Actually the 2zz motor is pretty nice according to newcelica.org forums ... i have been reading alot about the celica.... the 3gt swap on a 7th gen celi has never been done before and not a perfect fit... would need new motor mount and shzt >< ... ppl think the 7th gen celi is bad because they blow there motor redlining and 9k rpm (fucking retards) on a car rated at 7.8k redline ... another problem is its hard to stay in the powerband when shifting gears the rpm drops to low like 5.8k for average drivers and vvtl i doesnt kick in ... ive made it drop to 6.1 6.2k alot of times but its hard.

What's with this site!? Tying something long and it kicks me out losing everything. Not typing again. The reason why they rev 9,000 rpm is so that when they switch they would stay in the powerband but i think that kills your high end. The motor stops making power @ 7,800 rpm and starts dropping off in hosrepower. So if you peek power off 155 whp @ 7,800 rpm...shit...by driving it to 9,000 rpm it maybe making 140 whp. Some people don't understand that the redline is either to keep you in the power band  when you shift or the maintain high top end speed. It doesn't always incoorperate in the powerband when power is dropping.

Example: 00+ Camaro SS 300+ whp @ 4,500 rpm and 325 wtq @ 3,500 rpm. If the car redlines at 6,000 rpm I would believe the whp would have started fallening to like 275-250 whp and  the wtq is like 150. I get really technical on these things. American only allow it to rev longer for more top speed. Nothing to do with how fast it accelerates at the higher rpm but how fast it can go in top speed.

yea i know that ... im just saying ppl redline this car too dam high ... the 00-01 was a prototype and ppl redline that motor till it blows .. so toyota on the 02 models put  a dam rev limiter on it which is the model i got (it suks) ... redlining to 8.2 8.4 is fine to stay in the band but wuts the point on reving it to 9k you lose HP and damage the motor ... which is wut some lames have done and say its a bad motor.

And n e ways if i turbo the car its pointless getting the 00-01 03-05 ecu ... the turbo kit comes wit a power fc or a standalone ecu ... prolly gonna need low compression pistons which means i wont be able to rev that high n e ways after its tuned ... btw kit comes wit 3 inch pipes bigger fuel injectors  feul pump intercooler etc etc. check out monkeywrenchracing.com  theres also one in turbokits.com

No the pistons has nothing to do with your rpm. That's your cams. If you're looking to build it up you'll need turbo cams with it. Your peak powerband will most definately drop depending on the size of your turbo but the turbo cams might have it's own rev limiter.(new redline) Personally the 1.8 is a tad small for turbo that's why most honda much perfer H22 swap turbo. I have seen the kits for your car and it's prety decent. A respectable 250 whp with turbo kit.

Honda prefer the H22 swap due to the bigger engine (more volume)...hence more torque.  I believe the issue with the 1.8 was the switch over during left....can't quite remember exactly.

The MR2 is still on the back burner, may be starting up on it since the SRT is pretty much done as far as upgrade goes.  It was making about 350whp on 16 psi.
