step by step instructions on how to make a see-thru hood pic.

people have asked me how to make these...so here is how

this is easier to do with pics taken up from a roof looking down at the car, but can be done at any angle.
1st:
you take 2 pics at the same angle (a tripod makes this 100x easier)
you take 1 with the hood up, and 1 with the hood down. if you dont have a tripod, have someone open the hood for you while u hold the camera.

2nd:
open your editing program, and select the pic of your car with your hood open.

3rd:
open the pic of your car with the hood down

4th:
choose the freehand selection tool (may be called something different in different programs) and put the feathering effect on it, i choose 185 for the level of feather. this is what makes it fade. then you select the area of the motor u would like to have selected (usually do a rough outline of the hood...but dont select the whole motor)

(as u can see in the second pic, the outline is bigger then what i actually selected due to the feathering, but dont select that much)

5th:
then u will press Ctrl + C (copy) then Ctrl + V (paste) then you will have 3 pics ( hood open pic, hood closed pic, selected motor pic)

6th:
then if everything looks good on the motor pic, press Ctrl + C then select the pic of the car with hood down, and press Ctrl + L. then move the pic around to where it is supposed to go, then merge all layers (merge all flatten) then u are done!

That is pretty kool. I never had a chance to experiment with this. Great writeup!

As you know from physics, torque = force * distance so the farther from the center of the wheel that the rim is, the more torque and power it will take to turn.
